Throw back Thursday.  At Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte in 2011.  Tough loss for the Skins, as John Beck couldn’t get anything going as usual.  Tim Hightower also suffered a torn ACL, which all but ended his Redskin career.  Cam Newton and Steve Smith tore up the secondary.  Charlotte was a good time though, with good fans.  The tailgates were generous and the atmosphere was much more laid back than FedEx Field.  The stadium is located in the “uptown” part of Charlotte, which is very nice, very clean.

A lot of people seem to get the wrong idea about the Shanahans’ offense. Some will say that this is a new offense, never seen before by the league. False, this is the same system used by Shanahan for years, with a twist. Zone reads, stretch runs, quick playaction throws, and snap screens are still 90% of the offense. The only difference is that We run it out of the pistol formation. We do not run the “pistol” offense, for there is no such thing as a “pistol” offense. It’s a stretch read scheme with some plays run out if the “pistol”. The pistol is not an offense, it’s a formation. Some will say the Redskins run the Baylor offense the RG3 used in college, which is also false. Baylor ran 80% of its offense out if the spread, with 4 and 5 reciever sets. Just some clarity.

Going to the Skins game Sunday. I’d been waiting all week to get tickets, and finally did. Section 430, Row 9. Solid seat.

The amazing thing is that I will have attended both a Nationals and a Redskins playoff game in the same season. I witnessed the Werth walk off game, or Game 3 of the NLDS. That’s the craziest I have ever seen a stadium. Lets hope the magic can be re-created. Go Skins. HTTR.

I won my fantasy championship rather decidingly. S/O to Drew Brees, Roddy White, Danny Amendola, Darren Sproles, Marshawn Lynch, Frank Gore, and the Seattle D
